Rachel's Keepsake

achel’s Keepsake is a small porcelain object made in honor of Rachel Ruysch, a 17th-century artist whose legacy was nearly lost. Through this piece, her presence is gently brought back into view.

This series of keepsakes combines fired porcelain with soft, cold porcelain elements. These forms are inspired by the flowers in Ruysch’s still lifes, abundant, fragile, and quietly persistent. Strength and softness meet in indigo, echoing the resilience of female artistic practice.
